Melanie Wass is a highly engaging facilitator and speaker with years of experience in people management and learning. She is currently Board Director and State President of the Australian Institute of Training & Development. holds a degree in psychology and a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management. Melanie is Director of Natural Consulting, a professional learning & development practice. She is a specialist in Women's Development in the workplace.

Nicola Gentle11:00 am Effective Communication to deliver Excellence in Service - Nicola Gentle, Manager Service Quality & Information Management - Wagga Wagga City Council
Nicola Gentle is a highly experienced manager who has broad experience across a number of industry sectors and disciplines. Her career to date has encompassed the Banking & Finance, Technology, Customer Service and Government sectors and she has skills in both business and technical disciplines. Nicola came to Wagga Wagga in 2004 from Sydney, when she and her husband decided to make a lifestyle change from the rat race. At Council, she is involved with implementing major change, including Council's Service Quality Strategy and a new project to implement a new Service Request system.

Joy Ross2:00 pm The Joy Ride.taking opportunities, maintaining a work/life balance and enjoying the ride - Joy Ross, Manager Medical Specialist Recruitment - Calvary Health Care Riverina
Joy Ross grew up in Sydney and moved to Wagga in 1974. Regional/rural NSW has provided Joy with many opportunities and she has worked in both public and private sectors.  Positions have included secretary, PA, teacher, co-ordinator of a community centre, regional planner, real estate sales consultant, project manager and currently the Manager, Medical Specialist Recruitment in Wagga Wagga. Joy was elected as the first female Councillor at Temora Shire, a Board Director of the Local Community Services Association & the Health Services Association of NSW and is currently a member of the TAFE NSW Riverina Institute Council.

Lyn Russell3:00 pm Living, Loving, Learning and Leaving a Legacy: a Career Journey in Local Government - Lyn Russell, General Manager - Wagga Wagga City Council
Lyn was awarded the titles of Telstra Queensland and Australian Business Women on the Year in 1996, and Local Government Managers Association of Queensland Manager of the Year in 2001. In 2006 she was awarded the Public Service Medal for her services as Chief Executive Officer to the City of Thuringowa, North Queensland, where she was Chief Executive Officer from 1998 to 2008. In March 2008 Lyn was appointed as General Manager, Wagga Wagga City Council. She is a great fan of Stephen Covey and his philosophy of "living, loving, learning and leaving a legacy".

A regional conference for Local Government Executive Assistant's and Business Support to provide a networking opportunity for issues of relevance on a regional perspective. A variety of aspects will be covered throughout the day, including:

The conference is designed for executive assistants and personal assistants but it would be highly beneficial for business support, communication officers, customer service officers to also attend.

Standard Price - $140 (including GST)

Registration will close 13 November 2009 if tickets are not sold prior.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made after 5 pm on 13 November 2009 will not be entitled to receive a refund however a substitute delegate may attend on behalf.
