Plumbing Section

The Plumbing Section of Council's Development Services offers inspection services, plumbing approvals, sewerage service drainage diagrams and advice for all plumbing and drainage installations in the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area. Council's Plumbing Inspector's assess applications for Plumbing and Drainage Work under the following Acts and Regulations:-

• On-site Domestic Wastewater Management ASNZS 1547:2000
• Local Government Act 1993
• NSW Plumbing and Drainage Code
• ASNZS 3500 Plumbing & Drainage
• Councils Local Laws

Application to carry out plumbing and drainage works are to be made  with Councils Plumbing Section in the form of making an application for a plumbing permit, Council's Plumbing Section will process, assess and issue all relevant plumbing and drainage approval(s). All plumbing and drainage work that is regulated by the NSW Plumbing & Drainage Code and Australian Standard 3500 and must be carried out by a person who holds a current licence to perform the work.

Plumbing Inspections

1. Plumber contacts WWCC Plumbing Section on (02) 6926 9572, 48h hrs prior to requiring the subject inspection.
2. Plumbing Section check if Development Application and Construction Certificate have been approved & if the required a Site Inspection has been completed by Building Surveyors.
3. Paperwork prepared & permit emailed to Plumber if on Councils Debtor Account. If paying by cash customer can pay and collect permit from Customer Service prior to booking any plumbing Inspections.
4. Final Inspection Certificates, when approved, will be emailed to the plumber.

Changes to Sewerage Self Service Diagrams

Council advises that there will be a transitional period for licensed plumbers to make preparations for the supply of 'as completed' Sewerage Service Diagrams (SSD) to Wagga Wagga City Council as electronic PDF files.

From 1 July 2009, Wagga Wagga City Council will not undertake final plumbing inspections for works that that do not comply with the new requirements.
