On behalf of members, the Library subscribes to databases including encyclopaedias, legal information and learning resources.

Access within the Library: the public Internet computers in the Library have unrestricted access to these services

Remote access: for access from outside the Library you may be required to enter your membership number.

    • Ancestry Library Edition
      Search for your ancestors using a wide range of online family history resources in Australia, the UK, Ireland, the US and other countries.

    • Australian Public Affairs Full Text
      This collection provides information on subjects such as art, business, education, health, history and politics with a focus on Australian content.
    • Australia/New Zealand Reference Centre
      This database combines Australian and New Zealand magazines, newspapers, reference books and company information to create a large collection of regional full text content.
    • Britannica Online
      Encyclopaedia Britannica Online offers an integrated search on resources, from the 32 volume Encyclopaedia Britannica database to the Britannica Internet Guide, with over 200 000 links to sites that have been reviewed by Britannica editors.
    • Consumer Health Complete
      This full text database is designed to support patients' information needs and to foster an overall understanding of health-related topics. It covers topics such as: ageing, cancer, diabetes, drugs & alcohol, fitness, nutrition and men's & women's health.

      Covers all aspects of human impact to the environment. It includes content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more.
    • Legal Information Access Centre (LIAC)  
      State Library of New South Wales website providing up to date information about the law. Includes links to plain language guides, hot topics, and Acts and cases.
    • Literary Reference Center
      A full text database that combines information from books, literary encyclopaedias and journals with information on authors and their works.
    • MasterFILE Premier
      Provides full text magazines and journals covering a broad range of disciplines including Business, Education, Health, Science, Multi-cultural issues and much more.

      This online art resource includes images of the most frequently studied works of art, more than 21,000 biographies and links to museums and galleries around the world. 
    • Points of View Reference Center
