Kerbside Collection
The Wagga Wagga Local Government Area (LGA) constitutes both rural and urban areas, with commercial, industrial and military areas. The LGA encompasses a total land area of 4,886 square kilometres. Most of the population is located in the urban areas.
Wagga Wagga City Council provides a three bin Kerbside Waste Collection for roughly 22,000 properties which runs over a weekly and fortnightly service period. (See the following attachments for collection areas and schedules).

Rejected Bins

The following offences may result in a bin being rejected or not collected.
| Maximum load 60 kg - bin material was jammed
- bin was not facing the kerb
- bin was under an overhanging tree
- bin contained liquids or hazardous waste
- bin was overfull and/or has been filled in such a way that spillage would occur during normal collection operations
- bin was too heavy to lift (over 60kg)
- over 25% recyclable material in the garbage service

- bin was under an overhanging tree
- bin contained unconstrained polystyrene beads
- bin contained liquids or hazardous waste
- bin was overfull and/or has been filled in such a way that spillage would occur during normal collection operations
- contents of the green (garden) waste bin was contaminated with non-compostable garden waste
- contents of your green (garden) waste bin was contaminated with non- garden waste
- green (garden) waste bin was filled with non-garden type waste, including household garbage
- bin was too heavy to lift (over 80kg)
