About Family Day Care
The Co-ordination Unit is located on Level 1, Wagga Wagga Civic Centre, Cnr Morrow Street and Baylis Street.
Family Day Care provides quality care for children up to 12 years of age in the homes of Family Day Care Educators. A Family Day Care service provides care through a network of approved Educators, who are organised and supported by a professional
Co-ordination Unit.
Family Day Care provides a safe, secure and stimulating home environment for your children, with care being provided for small groups of children in the Educator's home. Family Day Care provides the opportunity for you and your children to develop a close relationship with your Educator.
Wagga Wagga City Council is the Licensee of the Service operating under State Government Regulations. The Service is supervised by Early Childhood trained staff in a Co-ordination Unit who supervise, train, support and resource the Home-Based Educators. Families may be eligible for Commonwealth Government subsidies including Child Care Assistance and the Child Care Rebate.
The Family Day Care Co-ordination Unit
- Gives families information about Family Day Care.
- Helps parents to choose a suitable Educator.
- Recruits and monitors Educators and provides them with training, support and resources.
- Ensures that appropriate child care standards and practices are maintained and improved, and
- Administers Child Care Benefit (CCB) and other government subsidies such as the Jobs, Education and Training Program (JET).
Wagga Wagga Family Day Care was established in 1976 and employs 11 Co-ordination Unit staff with 88 approved Educators and 7 In Home Carers throughout the region.
Wagga Wagga Family Day Care is accredited by the National Childcare Accreditation Council Inc.
