Planning

Welcome to Wagga Wagga City Council's Strategic Planning, Development and Building web section. This section is administered by Council's Planning Directorate.

As part of Council's commitment to continuous improvement this new web section has been created to provide the development industry, business operators, community groups and residents of Wagga Wagga with a comprehensive guide to Council's development assessment processes, from strategic plan making and development assessment through to the construction and building sign-off stages.

Information can be sourced through 3 main sub-sections:

      • Strategic Planning - a guide of all existing and draft strategies and development assessment controls, such as State Environmental Planning Policies, Local Environmental Plans, Development Control Plans and Council policies. Associated information on Rezonings, Section 149 Certificates, and Developer Contributions is also available.
      • Development - a guide on all the steps involved with development applications (DAs), including whether a DA is required, and the preparation, lodgement and determination of DAs. Other associated subdivision and engineering processes are also explained.
      • Building - a guide on any further required approvals including Construction Certificates, and the preparation for, and proper site management of the construction of new building works.
