2013 Australia Day Awards
Nominations for the 2013 Australia Day Awards have now closed.
All nominees will be recognised and the Award winners announced at the Official Ceremony on Australia Day, Saturday 26 January 2013.
The Sporting Hall of Fame awards will again feature as part of the Australia Day Awards. For more information on the Sporting Hall of Fame click here.

With something for everyone, we have a jam packed list of ways you can celebrate our National Day!
Picnic at the Oasis
| Start your celebrations early with Picnic at the Oasis on Friday 25 January from 5pm - 9pm. FREE entry into the Oasis Regional Aquatic Centre. Pack a picnic and enjoy the warm weather by the pool, you may even spot our Australia Day Ambassador and Olympic Gold Medalist Annabelle Williams. Annabelle will also be delivering a talk at 7pm! Food and drink will be available for purchase and there will be games and giveaways as well as a DJ! Free entry from 5pm-7pm. No entry and no pass outs after 7pm. This is an alcohol and glass free event. |
Free Community Breakfast
| Come and join us for a free community breakfast on Saturday 26 January from 7am - 8:30am in the Civic Precinct. There will be plenty of food and entertainment as well! Please be sun smart. Featuring Hey Diddle Fiddle - Dale Allison and Caleb Richards, Members of the Highland Pipe Band and also performers from Southern Cross Performing Arts! Once you've finished your breakfast, why not head over to the Victory Memorial Gardens for the Official Australia Day Ceremony? | |
Official Australia Day Ceremony
The Official Ceremony will be held in the Victory Memorial Gardens from 8:15am - 10:30am. Featuring the Australian Army Band Kapooka, the National Anthem Competition Finalists, children's rides, free tattoos and flag wavers. Water and sunscreen will be available. The ceremony will include the announcement of the 2013 Wagga Wagga Australia Day Awards and also feature an address by our Australia Day Ambassador Annabelle Williams.
Annual Talent Quest
Join us in the Civic Theatre for the annual Talent Quest from 1pm - 4pm. Sit back, relax and enjoy some of the local and regional talent. There will be singing and dancing and so much more! Once you've finished at the Talent Quest, why not head over to the Victory Memorial Gardens for Live in the Park proudly supported by Wagga Mutual?

| An open air concert in the Victory Memorial Gardens from 4pm - 8:30pm. This year the concert will feature National Artist Darren Coggan, supported by local Aussie Rock band The Convicts, Rebecca Hennessy, Amanda Long and many more! Food and drink will be available for purchase and there will be water and sunscreen available. So pack a picnic and come down and relax listening to Darren Coggan and other fantastic performers! This is a glass and alcohol free event. MEET DARREN COGGANYou also have the chance to meet Darren! Darren will be available in the Wagga Mutual Tent at 5pm! Wagga Mutual will also have some giveaways and activities for kids. |
Australia Day Ambassador
| We will welcome Annabelle Williams to our City in January as our 2013 Australia Day Ambassador. Annabelle is a Paralympic swimmer who has represented Australia on several occasions winning Silver and Bronze medals. At the 2012 Paralympic Games in London, Annabelle won Gold in the Women's 4 x 100m medley relay! During her swimming career, Annabelle has set five world records, served as captain of the Australian Paralympic Swim Team from 2008 - 2010, and currently serves on the Executive Board of the Australian Swimmers Association, which is the Australian Swimmers Union and the representative body for elite level swimmers in Australia. In addition to her swimming career, Annabelle has also worked in film - as Charleze Theron's stunt double for the movie, Mad Max 4: Fury Road, in 2010. Annabelle plans to join Allens Linklaters in Sydney as a Graduate Lawyer. | ![]() |
