Come and Try Workshops

An open workshop for sharing skills and knowledge around fibre and textile making techniques. Focus for this workshop is recycling plastic bags. So clean out your cupboards and bring them along!

Women With Clever Hands

Walkthrough and Demonstration
Come and join Louise Hamby, guest curator, and Lucy Wanapuyngu, artist and Indigenous curator, as they take you on a journey through the exhibition.  At then end of the walkthrough the women of Gapuwiyak will demonstrate their skills in making fibre objects.

Workshop
Join the women from Gapuwiyak for an open workshop.  Sit with the women in the exhibition space nestled amongst the work.  Watch, attempt and learn using materials from the Riverina region as well as Arnhem Land.

 Cocktail Party and Hat Parade 2010

Cocktail Party & Hat Parade

Come to the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery and be a part of Wagga Wagga's Gold Cup Festival.  Enjoy a cocktail party and hat parade by local milliners from the Riverina Community College.  Enjoy an evening of art, fashion, fine food and the racing carnival spirit.

The ever popular Art Horses exhibition will be a backdrop to the event and will be offically launched on the night.

There will be a lucky door prize by Maison de Marneys and a prize for the best dressed person on the night by the Murrumbidgee Turf Club.

These classes are suitable for all levels of experience and are a taste into the world of millinery.
